I can clearly see he needs his momma's attention, so that definetly leaves no room for other more frivolous things! I think you are right on track moving to "contemplation" mode. Good on ya, girl! We did something really similar when Milo was 3. He ruptured a ligament in his knee and we had him in Kansas City for a three days. We could have paid off my college loans with what we laid down for that dog, but I tell you what: worth every penny.

I'm staying tuned though!!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09905537299375598512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005249090549075026.post-59028838934025302132011-04-28T16:12:50.728-05:002011-04-28T16:12:50.728-05:00I am so, so sorry to hear that your sweet Charlie ...I am so, so sorry to hear that your sweet Charlie dog has been ill. Poor buddy. I'm really relieved to read above that he's doing better, and hope he continues to heal and do great. Big hugs for you both. xoxox.Tawnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10188683676180842751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005249090549075026.post-87902150984863964322011-04-26T20:54:39.221-05:002011-04-26T20:54:39.221-05:00Charlie and I are very appreciative of everyone...Charlie and I are very appreciative of everyone's well wishes. He is getting better everyday! And yes, Patresa, I'm in preparation, I can't believe I forgot preparation! I too am so officially one of THOSE people, but man, thank God for our Charlies.

Cheers to your light box too Sister. I am impressed you even thought of this! You are so on the move. She was like Houdini, and I'm not kidding! The vet said she'd never seen anything like it! Unfortunately, I laughed when she said that, and she, the educated vet, judged me, and that wasn't good. I'm sorry Charlie was subjected to it. No dignity at all!!!
You know what? Movement is MOVEMENT, girl. Kudos! You're getting there!
And I'm so with everyone else... Good dogs are soooo worth all of it, and John's exactly right: "almost nothing better than a good dog." Yep. Exactly!Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03605984406276288058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005249090549075026.post-74256118472792159372011-04-25T21:09:15.873-05:002011-04-25T21:09:15.873-05:00There was no price limit on my good dog Shoba. But I would have happily paid ten times that to keep her healthy for a little while longer. Best of health to Charles from me and my animal menagerie. Almost nothing better than a good dog.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05579610684460155891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005249090549075026.post-73160756574380502252011-04-25T20:42:06.240-05:002011-04-25T20:42:06.240-05:00Really, Becky, you simply can't put a price on...Really, Becky, you simply can't put a price on an animal-child's life. Charles once told me our cat-child has a maximum of $2,000 and I just went ahead and tacked on an extra two 0's to that number in my head. Because really. $2,000? In the 21st century? With health care costs sky rocketing out the wazoo? Not even.

Also, I really like that Charlie gets his own toy box. And Charlie With His Head in a Cone makes me want to pat his sweet Charlie head. Why do doctors do it, Charlie? The cones are so undignified (they do work, though, and I once suggested to one of Melissa's early pediatricians that maybe we could try a head cone on her to keep her from pulling off a bandage...that suggestion did not elicit the laugh I'd envisioned).

Feel better Charlie.
