Must Love Dogs (tanya)

This is becoming a theme, but I am brain impaired, very tired, mildly stressed and have little to say or probably should say.

So I will copy off a post earlier by a Coffee-Mate (haha) and post pictures of the canine beauties and lifetime buddies who I will unconditionally love and adore forever and who soothe my heart and soul in all good times and bad. Please don't expect too much creativity here.

Lloyd and Lucy (my children).....

Ft. Scott Bentley and Allie.....

Kansas City Bentley.....

My parents' dogs, Sammie, Dottie, and Sophie.....

My sister's dogs, sweet Molly (who just died 1/28/11 at the rockin' age of almost 15), Alice and Mindy.....

And finally, two of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet and deeply rooted in my heart, Cody and Josie (I will miss them forever. Cody was the smartest dog I've ever met who could climb a ladder and shut off a light, and Josie drove with me for all of her nearly 13 year Boxer life, and made me cry harder than just about anything when she elegantly went to Heaven).....

I love dogs. And these are not even close to all of my wonderful friends' wonderful dogs, but I have to stop somewhere. I love dogs for all the reasons we all love dogs, but to say it simply without any real justice to these buddies, I love them because they make me happy every single day of my life, and they are the most genuine creatures on earth. And of course children, but that is for another blog and perhaps for someone who actually has human children. :)

Also, despite earlier stating I am mildly stressed, please let me clarify, this is predominantly golden eustress laced with many smiles, so life is good.

Happy Dog Days.

Peace,
Tanya

I love dogs, too, Tanya. My most best dog friend was named Sassy, and she was a Lasa-poo. Sassy and I grew up together, and I was enormously devastated when I had to say good-bye to her.

Currently, I have a very old cat named Tasha (who's amazingly quite dog-like in character, in that she'll come to you when called and often licks your face...though I do believe that's for the salt on your skin, and not for the kiss-y kissing effect) and I'm trying to make her last years here with us as happy and stress-free as possible. She already gets screamed at by Melissa (who's afraid of dogs right now though she does like them from a distance--we'll have to work on THAT, no no). Getting screamed at by a 2 year old human is enough stress.

But there is just something very noble and gentle in dog character, and I always wish I could get myself another canine best friend whenever I meet a dog, or see pictures of sweet dogs like these, or hear/read stories about the goodness of other people's dogs.

I LOVE these pictures, and whenever I've seen Lloyd and Lucy via facebook, I've always smiled and thought: those are some cute doggy friends. Also, I really like it when people name their animals real people names, but I don't know why.

I hope your stress goes away instantly (aren't you glad you have animal friends to help? People without animal friends don't know about all the free therapy they provide, daily) and that Lloyd and Lucy and friends all get a special treat tonight just for being so stinkin' cute.

Tangy, sorry you're a stressed out sister. poo.
But Amy said it all when she noted that dogs are fantastic therapy -- as they listen to your woes with their big soulful eyes staring up at you, not interrupting, not judging. Since becoming a dog owner 8 years ago, I've been surprised to find how unconditional a dog's love really is. It never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes I think Millie might be an angel in disguise. That is, if angels like to eat cat poop and have breath like an old murky death swamp.

Loved seeing all the cuties that have added a splash (or gallons) of love to your life. They are precious.

I hope the sun shines on you for the rest of the week!

Thanks ladies!!!!! I also LOVE hearing about your pups and your lives in general!! Right on with the dog therapy.... I feel it is the least I can do to offer them a good home with some good conversation with all that they give me. :)

And so sorry I sound so stressed. Ick. Life is golden, and I am totally aware, my stress is no more far reaching than anyone else's. Sorry to sound so woe me!

Shout out to the positive and to the awesome COFFEE-ness all around!

and i love that photo of josie girl! if kaya didn't have such a strange vendetta against all boxers, she and josie could have been friends.

Looking at your poochie pals made me smile. I grew up with dogs, and I love them. Have had really rotten luck with dogs the last couple decades, though I am currently foster-parenting a Boxer, Maya, that belonged to my almost ex's mother. She's graceful and beautiful and sweet, and I love this animal. It will break my heart when she is no longer with me...
Am so sorry there is stress and icky stuff in your life right now, Tangy. Wish I could wave a wand and all that. Instead, I'll quote the wise and wonderful P: "The only way is through, Sugar." That's the only way. Through sucks, doesn't it?
High five for posting in spite of the poop, T. UP TOPS! Love you, lady... Hang tight, and keep bein' wonderful, special, gorgeous, amazing YOU.

Ahhhh, you know I love this post. And your dogs and all the people-in-your-life's dogs. And Charlie liked your post too, almsost as much as he likes watching animal planet, but not quite. Those dogs all so cuddly and cozy together. Makes me think charlie neeeds a doggie friend to keep him company ... he just squeaked his wubba really loud. Does that mean he wants a doggie buddy or does that mean he wants to continue ruling the castle solo? hmmmm...
Anyway, thanks T for sharing your lovely angels (yes, wendy, and smelly angels) with us!

PUPPIES!!!!! I loved looking at all of the sweet puppy faces in your life. Animals are as family as family gets. I am sorry you are stressed, but thank you for sharing so much doggie goodness with us anyhow. I hope you have a really relaxed and wonderful week and weekend, Sweet-T. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo.

P.S. COFFEE-Mates! Hahahahahaha! :)

Ahhh, Tanya, this has me hooked. I have two great danes who are as much a part of my family as my parents, my husband and my brother and sister. My Bella turns 9 in a week and her age is really showing. She's a retired therapy dog who used to come to work with me and hang with the special ed kids, and even now when we're on walks she leans toward kids when we pass them and loves to get kiddie hugs. My Milo turned 7 last month, and he's as much of a moose now as he was the day I brought him home. He's 140 pounds of big giant goober love.

There's not much more restful than doggie snores, not much more comforting than the furry nearness of a contended dog, and not much more joyful than the insane sprinting of a dog running for the hell of it.

Thanks for the reminder :)
